EHS has seen significant athletic success this season from our varsity boy’s basketball and hockey teams. Both teams won their respective Western Mass championships and reached their first-ever state finals.

The basketball team, which was seeded at No. 2, defeated No. 1 seed Monument Mountain to win the Western Mass Division 3 championship. They bested Sutton in the state semifinal and were eventually defeated by Watertown in the championship game. Two basketball players were named Hampshire-Franklin All-Stars this year: Sopie Pek and Ant Moynihan. Along with Moynihan and Pek, Zade Jenkins and Max Coleman will also be graduating this spring.

The hockey team, also seeded No. 2, beat No. 5 Belchertown to win the Western Mass Division 3-A championship. In the state final, they were bested by Lunenberg/Ayer-Shirley. Patrick O’Connor, Dillan Wilson, and Mathew Zuzula are graduating this year.

The EHS varsity swim team was also very successful this season. They were undefeated 7-0 in their class, and 10-2 overall. Saige Harper and Victoria Dresja were both named to the Division 2 All-Western Mass second team. There are six seniors on the team: Brielle Bergeron, Carly Detmers, Kiernan Jones, Taylor Mitchell, Emma Taylor, and Abbie Tobin.
