After the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, many students are once again raising their voices for gun control laws that they say could have stopped the shooter, Nikolas Cruz, from acquiring the weapon he used to kill 17 people. A nationwide walkout is being planned to raise congressional awareness of student’s thought.

“Parents, students, and teachers who have had enough of gun violence in American schools are planning to make a major statement in support of gun safety — by walking out of classrooms across the country. On Feb. 16, the organizers behind the Women’s March announced that they are planning a nationwide school walkout to take place on March 14,” said POPSUGAR in an article posted February 16th.

The walkout is going to occur on March 14, 2018, at 10 a.m. (all time zones). It is going to last 17 minutes, to represent the 17 victims of the shooting.
